  • Using an AED (defibrillator)

2. HLTAID011 – Provide First Aid

(Formerly “Senior First Aid”)

What it covers:

  • CPR

  • Burns

  • Bleeding

  • 2-hour practical session

3. HLTAID012 – Provide First Aid in an Education & Care Setting

✔ Teachers
✔ OSHC staff
✔ Family day care providers
✔ School staff

What it covers:

Everything from HLTAID011 plus:

  • Child-specific emergencies

  • Asthma management for children

  • Anaphylaxis treatment (EpiPen & Anapen)

  • Responding to infants & toddlers

Why this course is required:

WA childcare and education sectors must hold HLTAID012 to meet ACECQA requirements.
